Past President Sue Reardon opened the meeting with a toast to the Queen of Clubs We welcomed visiting Rotarians from Pismo Beach, President Elect Joel Conn  and his wife Sarah, and Secretary Deenie Dotson. Dulcie showed off and shared a bottle of La Montagne, a women owned business Rotarian Dulcie Sinn who spoke about the history of women in Rotary. It only goes back to 1950, through the sixties and seventies until finally in 1987, when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Rotary clubs may not exclude women from membership on the basis of gender. Sharon Pensabene, owner of Sharon Pensabene Insurance in Lompoc. Sharon spoke about her personal experience of how she went from being a hotel employee to being a small business owner.
Rotarian Claudio praised women for their hard work Rotarian Ray Down spoke about his knowledge of women in Rotary Thank you Our good friend Tony Durham was peddling tickets for COPtoberfest, on Saturday, Oct 18th, 1-5 PM, at the Dick DeWees Community Center.
